Frequently asked questions
How quickly will I get a reply?
On WhatsApp usually within a few hours, and always within 24. By email within 24 hours. Suriname is four to five hours behind central Europe, so a message you send in the morning is read there at the start of the day.
Do I have to pay straight away?
No. Your enquiry commits you to nothing. Only once the date and the plan are settled do we ask for a 20% deposit to reserve; the balance is paid in cash on the day.
Can I call instead?
WhatsApp works better and is the normal business channel in Suriname. Calling from Europe is expensive and the guide is often mid-tour during the day.
What languages can I write in?
Dutch, English or Sranan Tongo. Dutch is the official language of Suriname, so there is no need to switch.
