What are the best tours from Paramaribo?
For a first visit the Paramaribo food tour is the strongest single choice: four hours, €55, six to eight tastings inside three kilometres. Choose the historic centre walk (three hours, €40) if you came for the buildings, Commewijne (seven hours, €95) for plantation history reached by boat, and Brownsberg (eleven hours, €125) only if four hours in a vehicle is acceptable.

What are the best day trips from Paramaribo?
Four full days out of Paramaribo are worth the drive. Commewijne (seven hours, €95) crosses the river by boat to the plantations and Peperpot. Colakreek (eight hours, €85) is the swimming day. Brownsberg (eleven hours, €125) is the interior without an overnight. Jodensavanne, World Heritage listed since 2023, is a full day too; ours is being arranged, so book Jenny Tours at €82.50 for now.

What is the best boat tour from Paramaribo?
Boat trips here mean three different things. The Commewijne river tour crosses to the plantations, a sunset trip goes downstream to the estuary where the dolphins are, and the combination does both in one day. Our full plantation day, seven hours at €95, includes the crossing. The dedicated boat trips are being arranged now, with dates and price confirmed alongside availability.

Commewijne or Jodensavanne: which should I choose?
Take Commewijne if you want plantation and indenture history reached by boat, seven hours at €95, ending with the sloths of Peperpot. Take Jodensavanne if seventeenth-century Jewish settlement history is the reason you came: it is a World Heritage site, inscribed in September 2023, roughly 50 kilometres upriver and reached by road. With one free day, most visitors should choose Commewijne.

Can I book a Suriname tour if I am traveling alone?
Yes. You can enquire about any tour as a solo traveller. The minimum group to run varies by tour, usually three or four, sometimes two. For selected excursions we may place you on an existing departure, and otherwise we quote a private one. Whether it works depends on the tour and the date: send your date and you get a personal reply within 24 hours.
