Working in Paramaribo for a few days, or here with colleagues? We arrange a private tour around your schedule: a walk through the wooden old town when work finishes at four, the Blauwgrond warungs in the evening, a morning of tastings at the market on your free Saturday, or a full day out to the plantations. Your group goes out with the guide on its own, and before anything is fixed you get one proposal with one total.
Who comes to Paramaribo for work? Hospital staff, nurses, doctors and other healthcare teams working here for a while, airline crews with a free day in the city, project teams, business delegations, NGO and development workers, and conference visitors. What they share: no local network, a schedule that is not their own, and a few free hours with nothing arranged. You do not need to be a company to book with us. Five colleagues with the same free afternoon is plenty.
What works depends on the time of day. After work, the walking tour fits: it starts at 16:00 and ends at the Waterkant around sunset. After six, the Javanese warungs of Blauwgrond open. A free morning is the market, a free day can go across the river or out into nature. Not every tour works at every time: the Central Market is closed on Sunday, the warungs only exist in the evening, and the day trips need a group of at least four. We tell you that up front, not on the day.

The advantage is that we fit around your schedule rather than the other way round: the pick-up point, the day and, where the place allows it, the start time move to suit you. There is no group price on this page, deliberately. It depends on group size, transport, duration, the number of guides, food and drink, and where we pick up. We are a small company, so there is a great deal we do not do: conference logistics, audiovisual or stage setup, event management, catering contracts, coaches for large groups, and anything requiring a permit or licence we have not confirmed we hold. And not every tour works at every time: if all you have is a Sunday afternoon, the market is out. Because we started in 2026 we have no corporate client list yet, so there are no logos and no testimonials on this page.

Can you arrange a tour for colleagues visiting Suriname for work?

Do you organise activities for hospital staff and nurses in Paramaribo?
Yes, for a group that books itself. After a day shift, the walking tour (starts 16:00, three hours) or the Blauwgrond warungs (start 18:30) fit. After a night shift people often have a morning: the food tour starts at 09:00. We have no arrangement with any hospital; you ask us directly.
Can a team book a private tour?
Yes. When a team books a tour there are no strangers on it: it is your group and the guide. Up to 8 people is the standard. Existing tours include what their own page says, and a programme of your own comes with one total in advance.
Can you arrange something after work?
Yes, and two tours are built for it. The walking tour starts at 16:00 and ends around 19:00 at the Waterkant. The Blauwgrond evening tour starts at 18:30, because the warungs only open after six. What does not work after work is the Central Market: it is a morning market.
Can you handle a group larger than eight people?
Yes, but we quote it separately and say up front how: above 8 people a second guide joins, and on a route with transport a second vehicle. That changes the cost per head and the pace. We do not run coach groups of fifty.
Can you create a custom programme for a business delegation?
Yes. A delegation often has one free day or an afternoon around its meetings, and we build the programme around that. The Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit runs each June and grew from 800 delegates in 2023 to over 1,200 expected in 2026; for that week ask at least two weeks ahead, because hotels and drivers are busy.
What information do you need to arrange a group experience?
Seven things: group size, date or dates, how much time you have, whether you are here for work, what you would like to do or see, the hotel or workplace if we should pick you up, and any dietary or accessibility requirements. With those seven we can send a proposal within 2 working days.
What does a group programme in Paramaribo cost?
We quote per request, because group size, transport, duration, the number of guides and the food set the price: a group of 3 and a group of 12 are different days. If you pick an existing tour, its per-person price on that tour page is the starting point. You get one fixed total within 2 working days.
We have just relocated staff to Paramaribo. Can the day be an orientation rather than a tour?
That is a deliberate variant. Instead of the plantation afternoon it covers the practical city: which supermarkets, where the cash machines are that take foreign cards, how the cambios work, how ordering in a warung or rotishop goes, and which neighbourhood is which. After roughly six hours a new arrival stops guessing.
Can you invoice a company?
You get one written quotation and one invoice for the whole group, payable by bank transfer in EUR, rather than per-person payment on the day. Allow 2 working days for the quotation. If your finance department needs a registered supplier with a tax number on that invoice, ask before you plan around us: we will tell you plainly what we can and cannot put on paper today.
