One day in Paramaribo: what you can actually do
With one day in Paramaribo you do the Central Market and old town before nine, a walking tour from 16:00 to 19:00 once the sun eases, and Javanese food in Blauwgrond in the evening. Budget €74 per person for tours.
One day is tight but not pointless, provided you keep it inside the city. Colakreek and Brownsberg do not fit; try anyway and you spend eight hours in a car and see nothing.
The trick is skipping the midday heat. Between noon and four, being outside in Paramaribo is no fun, that is the window for a long lunch or your hotel.
Who it is for: Cruise passengers, people on a stopover, or the first day of a longer trip.
