Three days is the commonest length for a city visit to Paramaribo, and it is exactly enough to see the city, the river and the kitchen as separate things.
The order is not arbitrary. You start with the history, because after that you understand why the plantations sit where they sit, and only then does the food make sense.

Day 1
Day 1: learning to read the city
Morning free for the market and the Palm Garden. Late afternoon the walking tour (€40 pp): Fort Zeelandia, the Keizerstraat, the cathedral, sunset on the Waterkant.

Day 2
Day 2: across the river
Commewijne day tour (€95 pp): by boat to Fort Nieuw Amsterdam, Frederiksdorp plantation, lunch by the river and sloths at Peperpot in the afternoon. Back around half past three.

Day 3
Day 3: eating
The food tour at 09:00 (€55 pp): the Central Market at its fullest, bara and bakabana from the street, and a roti lunch in a roti shop, done around 13:00. Skip breakfast. The afternoon is free; if you want the saoto of Blauwgrond, add the warung tour in the evening.
